Iyo Afopina (Moth Pupa)

I’m using that amazing process in nature to show how we as humans can always bebreaking free from our old selves, always growing and changing In “Iyo Afopina,” which literally means ‘the transformation of a moth pupa into an adult. You see a strong, almost solid orange figure, standing there, and from its back, a dark, shadowy form seems to be reaching out, almost dissolving into a flock of bright orange butterflies flying free into the blue sky. It’s like the old self is shedding, transforming into something beautiful and unburdened. For me, this painting is about constant evolution, about letting go of what holds us back to become something new and soar.
