Africa in slumber, land of bountiful grace,
Rich in blessings, a vibrant, ancient place,
Yet shackled by chains, in an oppressive embrace,
In the stillness of night, its struggles we trace.
Underneath the stars, its rivers flow,
Mountains stand tall, in majestic show,
Yet oppression’s shadow, casts a heavy blow,
Africa in slumber, its wounds we know.
Golden sunsets paint the sky with hues so bold,
Wildlife roams free, in tales untold,
Yet the cries of the oppressed, remain untold,
In Africa’s slumber, its stories unfold.
From the Sahara’s sands to the Serengeti’s plain,
Africa’s beauty, a wonder to attain,
Yet the weight of history, like a heavy chain,
In its slumber, a nation’s cry in refrain.
Oh Africa, land of promise and plight,
In your slumber, dreams take flight,
May your blessings shine, in morning’s light,
May oppression yield, to justice and right.
As Africa slumbers, we hold its hand,
In our hearts, its struggles we understand,
May its blessings rise, like grains of sand,
In Africa’s slumber, hope’s flame will expand.
